How Effective Is Your Website?

Webtrends and NPD utilization reports provide actionable insight

How many people visit your website? Where do they go once they get there? Where do they spend most of their time? Where do they spend the least? These are important questions that tell you how well your website is working for you and where to make improvements. NorthPoint Domain helps you answer these -- and other -- questions. NorthPoint provides traffic reporting as part of its website hosting and support service. We gather our data from Webtrends, which is a state-of-the-art reporting tool that provides rich information about website traffic and visitors to your site. Webtrends enables you to identify trends and access detailed data about:

  • Daily overall usage of your site -- visitors and time spent on the site
  • Page views (both actual visits per page and average time viewed)
  • First time users versus repeat users
  • Domestic versus international visitors

This information is important because it helps you understand what interests your visitors. It can also inform you about the impact and effectiveness of your marketing and patient awareness campaigns, and be used to draw more traffic to your site.

As an NPD client, you may choose to have direct access to the reporting tool with the ability to view data trends, or you can have a report sent to you each month. Contact your Member Services Advisor to discuss your preference.

If you would like more detailed information about your traffic, we also offer Webtrends Premium, which provides the same data as standard Webtrends plus deeper metrics, including:

  • Referral sources to your site
  • Search engine key phrases and terms that led visitors to your site
  • Path analysis (the path that visitors follow as they move from page to page through your website)

NorthPoint Domain Product Utilization Reports

Webtrends provides metrics about website utilization, but it does not provide data about the usage of NorthPoint Domain tools. We provide that with a separate quarterly report. Based on the products you use, you will receive information on the following:

  • Messages received through the Secure Messaging Center
  • e-Packets sent
  • Practice Marketing Center messages sent
  • Mailing lists created
